This is one of the most beautiful mountain biking regions in Austria. This Mecca of the cycling world in the Oetztal Valley is nestled within a breath-taking side valley in the Tyrol and surrounded by 250 three-thousand metre summits. Get on your bike and admire the breath-taking panoramic views!
Initially, it was only the locals who whizzed across the gravel paths in the pastures and mountains on their mountain bikes for training purposes. But the mountain landscapes in and around Soelden have also been popular with mountain bikers from all over the world for many years - and not without good reason.
A wide range of trails
The Oetztal is one of the Approved Bike Areas and received the quality seal this year. Over 20 mountain biking routes of various difficulty are offered here. With this variety on offer, you are bound to find a route to perfectly suit your fitness level and expertise.
Trails with unique views
Straight out of the hotel door and onto your bike. Cycle from Soelden along the glacier road and over the gravel tracks up to the Sonnblick ski hut in the Oetztal. Recharge your batteries with a snack of bread and ham or cheese whilst enjoying the dreamy views and then head back towards Soelden or tackle some of the other slopes and trails in the Oetztal Valley. A good cycling technique and a high level of concentration are a must on many of the trails. The Oetztal Valley is very demanding but breath-taking panoramic views make it all worthwhile.
